M. and Rosalie Deel Fletcher, his sister, Pauline Robbins, and brothers Luther, Claude and John Fletcher. He is survived by two sons, Steve Fletcher and wife, Linda, and Scotty Fletcher and wife, Louanne, of Lebanon; one daughter, Kathi Kiser and husband, Joe, of Kingsport; seven grandchildren, Andrew Kiser and wife, Jennifer, Kingsport, Kelly Kiser Roberts and husband, Todd, Maryville, Tenn., Kerra Fletcher Troutman and husband Jason, Dayton, Ohio, Charlotte Fletcher Gilmer and husband, Wesley, Lebanon, David Fletcher and wife, Sara, South Korea, Jessica Fletcher Phillips and husband, Lance, and Brandon Fletcher and wife, Kristen, all of Abingdon, Va.; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Natalie Roberts, Benjamin and Elizabeth Kiser, Abiah Troutman, Bill and Fletcher Gilmer, Olivia and Griffin Phillips and Kate and Ella Fletcher. Also surviving are three brothers, Ellis Childress, H. I. Fletcher and William Hascue Fletcher; one sister, Winnie Lou Cantrell. He is also survived by a special friend, Shelby Boardwine, to whom the family would like to give their thanks and gratitude for providing the companionship and love she gave Fletch the past several years.

Fletch, as he was known, was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church, Lebanon, where he served as Deacon Emeritus. His Christian life was reflected daily in his service to others, his deep sense of honor and loyalty to family and friends and even in his sense of humor.

Fletch was born in west Dante and grew up in Lee County. He served in the Navy from 1944-1946 during WWII as a Seaman 1st Class on the USS Coccopa. He moved to Big Ridge in Clintwood in 1947 where he met Clinas. Much to her chagrin, he loved to tell how she picked him up when he was hitchhiking. They were married in May, 1949, and remained devoted to each other until her death in September, 2006.

Fletch moved his family to Royal Oak, Michigan in 1956 to work for American Incinerator. After he and Clinas decided they wanted to raise their family closer home, they moved to Lebanon in 1960 and he started Lebanon Plumbing and Heating with his partner and brother-in-law, Derl Rose.

Fletch worked at Southern States Co-operative in Lebanon from 1970 until he retired in 1990. Even after retirement he was often called upon to service furnaces for those who found his work to be of high quality. He never complained or turned down a need to fix a furnace or thaw a water line no matter how dark or cold the night. Of course, if they offered him a piece of country ham or jar of homemade apple butter it made it even better.

In 1962, Fletch joined Lebanon Masonic Lodge #251 where he served as Master, District Deputy and District Instructor of Work. He was also Worthy Patron with Eastern Star in Abingdon and Honaker and a member of Castlewood Royal Arch Chapter.
